Our recovery skates are designed for loading vehicles with locked wheels onto recovery truck flatbeds or trailers. This carrier dolly system allows quick, safe and efficient loading of broken-down vehicles. Thanks to the simple handling of the carrier dolly, blocked vehicles can be positioned and loaded with minimal effort. Recovery skates in different designs
Our range of sturdy recovery wheel skates includes three designs. They differ in technical terms because the recovery skates have different mounting options or wheel designs. The recovery wheel skates are suitable for vehicles with blocked wheels (please refer to the individual product descriptions for detailed specifications). Blocked wheels can have a variety of causes. Possible reasons could be that the handbrake is still on, a gear is engaged in a vehicle with manual transmission, a parking brake is on in a vehicle with automatic transmission, or a defective wheel bearing.
Recovery wheel skate item no. 409975
This popular model has a load capacity of 800 kg per recovery skate, so it is well suited to heavier vehicles. It has a sturdy, hot-dip galvanised frame offering long-term protection against corrosion. The eight stable wheels of the recovery wheel skate are equipped with smooth-running roller bearings. Because there are eight wheels, the contact pressure on each individual wheel is reduced. This also ensures an easy rolling movement with low resistance and reduced bearing pressure. The blocked wheel of the vehicle is lifted using a trolley jack and the recovery skate is pushed underneath. You will need the appropriate number of recovery wheel skates to correspond to the number of blocked wheels. If you need recovery skates for both axles, you will need to use wheel chocks to prevent unintended movement of the vehicle.
Free-wheel recovery skate item no. 409995
This model is a version of the recovery wheel skates described above with a load capacity of 800 kg per skate. The special design with free-running wheels allows vehicles with a blocked parking brake (automatic transmission) or with the gear engaged (manual transmission) to be loaded onto a tow truck platform or trailer using just one recovery skate. The free-running wheels of the recovery skate enable the differential to compensate during the loading process, allowing problem-free towing of the vehicle. A trolley jack is used to lift the vehicle’s wheel onto the recovery wheel skate and the loading process can then begin. Blocked all-wheel-drive vehicles can also be used with two of these recovery skates. Simply mount one recovery skate onto a front wheel and one recovery skate onto a back wheel and the loading process can begin. But remember: If you need to use recovery wheel skates on both axles, you must always use wheel chocks to secure the wheels.
DUO or QUATTRO carrier dolly system
Our carrier dolly system has a double-sided operating mechanism. The carrier dollies can be mounted onto the outer or the inner tyre wall. This reduced track width makes it possible to load vehicles onto narrow flatbeds or trailers, and even motorcycles can be handled with ease. The carrier dolly system is quick and easy to use without a jack by means of the integrated operating lever. These carrier dollies are especially quick and advantageous when it comes to moving vehicles with blocked wheels. The large wheels of the car wheel skate trolley (152 mm diameter) can easily cope with uneven surfaces such as gravel or cobbles. The rigidly mounted wheels also run perfectly straight and can also handle kerbs without issue. Thanks to the low profile, wheels of lowered sports cars can also be accommodated. The telescopic frame of the carrier dolly can be adapted to the tyre diameter. In combination with the dolly receptacle tray, it is also possible to load vehicles with a missing wheel. The aluminium drawbar (supplied) has a towing eyelet. The winch rope can be directly attached to it so you don’t need to use the vehicle’s towing eye. The carrier dolly is made from high-quality aircraft aluminium, so it only weighs 11 kg – with a load capacity of 1800 kg per pair. This means that the carrier dolly system can be used to load, e.g., large SUVs or electric vehicles.
