WHEN IS AN LED BEACON USED AND FOR WHOM?
LED beacon lights can be used on moving objects such as vehicles or on static objects such as gates or machines. Mostly, the flashing LED beacon is used on moving vehicles and then, depending on the requirements, both when the vehicle is moving and when it is stationary. For example, the LED beacon can warn of vehicles that are moving particularly slowly, such as agricultural machinery. Very often, the rotating beacons are also used on stationary vehicles in road or construction traffic.
WHO IS ALLOWED TO USE LED LIGHT BEACONS IN ROAD TRAFFIC?
The dominant luminour colours in road traffic are amber and blue. This is regulated in the Road Traffic Regulations under StVZO § 52. Rotating Beacons in the colour amber may be used on the following vehicles, among others:
• Breakdown service vehicles, such as towing vehicles or breakdown service cars.
• Construction vehicles
• Vehicles with excess length or width
• Heavy goods transporters
• Escort vehicles for special transports
• Municipal vehicles such as winter service or street cleaning
Flashing LED beacons of the colour blue are considered as special light signals. Blue beacons are used by the following vehicles:
• Police
• Fire brigade
• Ambulance
• Emergency ambulance
• German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW)

POWER SUPPLY AND MOUNTING OF OUR LED BEACONS
Our LED beacons with power supply via a connection cable are available with the following mounting options:
• Magnetic: Here, the magnetic base holds the LED beacon light securely to the vehicle. The surface must be suitable for a magnet.
• With plug-in base: The rotating beacon is inserted into a pre-assembled plug-in base for operation. Certain models have a flexible base that can withstand minor impacts.
• 3-point screw connection: The LED beacon light is permanently attached to the vehicle by screws.
Our LED warning lights with built-in rechargeable battery for power supply have two mounting options:
• Magnet: Firm hold due to the magnetic base.
• Suction attachment: The suction base holds by operating the suction pump. Popular for use on non-magnetic surfaces.
LED ROTATING BEACONS WITH BUILT-IN RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
The use of a rotating beacon with rechargeable battery is probably the easiest and quickest way to use an LED beacon, because it can be switched on easily and without cables by remote control or directly on the beacon. Fully charged, the LED beacon with rechargeable battery can be operated for up to 8 hours thanks to power-saving LED technology. For quick mounting, a magnetic base or suction mount is available with our LED beacon with battery. This form of LED rotating beacon is suitable for vehicle speeds of up to 230 km/h. In addition to the amber warning lights, LED blue light magnetic lights are also available with this type of power supply.
LED BEACONS WITH CABLE CONNECTION
The magnetic version of the LED flashing beacon is quickly mounted or dismantled. Power is supplied via a built-in coiled cable (length approx. 2.5 metres of cable) incl. plug with switch. The LED warning beacon is also removable when mounted on the plug-in base. This is fixed to the outside of the car, but requires a power supply with switch on the dashboard. The power supply also works with the 3-point attachment. However, this is a non-detachable version of the LED beacon. Instead, the rotating beacon is attached in a theft-proof manner.
