Trailer hitches for cars, trailer hitches for trucks and caravan tow hitches
We offer an extensive range of rigid heavy duty trailer hitches for retrofitting to a vehicle or for replacing a truck trailer hitch, especially in the truck sector. Screw-on plates in different sizes and with different hole patterns make retrofitting a tow hitch onto a vehicle easy. Tow hitches are available as ball hitches, drawbar hitches or a combination of both. We also offer the popular universal Rockinger interchangeable tow hitch.
For the car sector, our ball hitch is available as a trailer hitch for a car. It is suitable for tubes with a diameter of 45 or 50 mm. We also supply a complete mounting kit to make fitting the right tow hitch quick and easy. Our complete kit can also be used to quickly replace a worn tow hitch.
Motor homes and campervans almost always require a trailer hitch as a frame extension for the attachment of a caravan tow hitch. The appropriate towing hitch can then be fitted to this or replaced.
Different rigid tow couplings with a ball hitch
To make installation as straightforward as possible, we stock different models of heavy duty trailer hitches with ball hitches for trucks. They have 2-hole or 4-hole mountings, each with different attachment heights for the ball hitch. This guarantees that we always have the right tow hitch for a wide range of vehicle types. Trailer hitches for trucks are not available as swivelling or folding versions. These versions are only available as trailer hitches for cars.
Ball hitches
Ball hitches are the most common type of hitch for trailer loads weighing up to 3500 kg and commercial vehicles with a gross weight of up to 7500 kg. The ball hitch is also the standard type of trailer hitch for a car.
Combi hitch
For trailers up to a gross weight of 3500 kg, our combi hitch offers the advantage that it can be used for hitching with a tow hitch or an eye hitch. The tow hitch and the eye hitch can both be used with a tow bar. We also supply combi hitches with 2 and 4 holes to cope with different loads.
Interchangeable system
Our range of interchangeable systems includes the well-known Varioblock system from tow hitch manufacturer Rockinger. With a 4-hole hitch plate, the Rockinger hitch can be used with a corresponding ball or drawbar hitch. You simply plug in and secure the tow hitch modules. The Rockinger model therefore also offers a tow hitch that can be removed if required. Our interchangeable hitch system with detachable 4-hole hitch plate offers similar possibilities. Here too, the tow hitch can be removed when not in use.
Simple retrofitting of tow hitches
When retrofitting, you must ensure that the location where you are planning to fit the selected tow hitch can cope with the load. You will need to drill holes so this must also be possible at the installation height. Fitting the tow hitch doesn’t take long once you have resolved these issues. To fit the tow hitch, you will also need an electrical connection for the trailer lighting.
Drawbar load, maximum towable weight and D-value
The drawbar load for tow hitches is always marked on the tow hitch itself. It specifies the maximum vertical force that may act on the ball hitch from above. The maximum towable weight is determined by the D-value of the ball hitch and the total weight of the vehicle. The D-value of the tow hitch can be found on the rating plate or in the corresponding documents. Various websites are available that will calculate the load using this data.
