Cargo nets
Our durable cargo nets are perfect as a container net for securing loads on containers, trailers, skips, or flatbeds. These nets keep your cargo safely in place and prevent loose items from falling during transport. Manufactured from knot-free, UV-stabilised green polypropylene with a 3 mm thickness, these robust cargo nets are built to last. The strong 6 mm edge cord and fine 45 mm mesh provide reliable load security for a wide range of applications.
When are container nets and trailer nets compulsory?
When transporting any kind of freight, there is a fundamental legal obligation to keep the load secure. The German road traffic regulations (StVO § 22 paragraph 1) stipulate that goods should be loaded and secured in such a way that none of the load is lost. The risk of losing a load is particularly high when transporting loose or lightweight goods or goods that are susceptible to air currents, if a container net or trailer net is not used. Our universal cargo nets provide a safe and stable covering for any container, trailer or skip. So our container nets, cargo nets for trucks and trailer nets mean that you can transport your goods not just safely but also in accordance with the law.
How to choose the correct size of cargo net
The correct size of cargo net for trucks, container net or trailer net should overlap the length and width of the area to be covered by approximately 0.7 m to 1 m.
Here’s a sample calculation: If you need to cover an area of approximately 2.2 x 4.2 metres, the cargo net should have external dimensions of at least 3 x 5 metres.
This extra length and width is firstly necessary to allow the cargo net to be secured safely to the side of the trailer or container. Furthermore, the load might also be piled or stacked up on the trailer or open container. In this case, the load might be larger than the side walls of the container or trailer. This might mean you need a larger cargo net for securing the load so that there is still enough overlap at the sides for attaching the trailer net or container net. The basic rule is that it is better for a cargo net to be too large than too small. It doesn’t matter if a trailer net is too large e.g. for a small trailer. A cargo net can be folded down or tucked in to the correct size. The cargo net for trucks or trailers or container net doesn’t need to be hooked onto the vehicle by the net’s edge cord. If the cargo net needs to be smaller, it can also be secured to the vehicle by the mesh itself, as described here.
Special features of our container nets
Our container nets are robust and can be used for universal applications. They can be used as standard container nets or as trailer nets. However, our cargo nets can also be used for securing loads e.g. as cargo nets for trucks transporting skips or as trailer nets for car trailers. The 45 mm fine mesh ensures that even loose loads such as branches or leaves won’t be lost during transit. Our green nets are made of high-quality PP (polypropylene) that is not only robust but also UV-stable and UV-resistant. Our cargo nets combine a 6 mm thick cord around the edge with 3 mm thick mesh strands. The material and processing guarantee hardwearing durability over many years. Our container nets and trailer nets are flexible so they adapt very well to the shape of the load.
