How to find the suitable hand lamp with LED and AKKU

Handheld lights can be distinguished in terms of their design and size, the power supply, the light source used and their application in special areas. The latter is the profession of the fire brigade as an example. They require tested flashlights for their work which are explosion-protected (ex-protected) in order not to cause ignition of the medium by switching on the hand lamp in the event of possible gas leakage in houses or apartments.

There are currently three different light sources available on the market. Classic incandescent lamps, Xenon bulbs and modern LED work lamps, which are characterized by a lower power consumption and by the continuous progress in the research of the LED´s increased light output (lumens) and longer life.

The standard power supply can be provided via a 230 Volt connection cable. The advantage of this multi-purpose lamp is that the light cannot go out during work. Depending on the size, different types of batteries are used in small sizes or in commercially available lamps, most of which cannot be recharged. Nowadays the power supply of an integrated accumulator finds more and more popularity. This work light can then be charged advantageously via a 230 Volt mains plug or via a 12 Volt charging adapter for the car. Wireless versions with charging via a charging station are also available. Hand lamps are available in many shapes and sizes.

•       Flashlights are the classic hand lamps. Usually a cylindrical form, these are available from approx. 36 mm              length to over 50 cm.

•       Hand-held spotlights, on the other hand, are characterised by a larger accumulator so that they appear in different shapes. They are more bulbous to provide enough space for the required components. Available with or without stand, magnetic holder or tripod.

•       Inspection lamps are long cylindrically designed housing bodies made of Plexiglas / plastic with the largest possible surface area at LEDs or a fluorescent tube.
